The Managing Director (MD/CEO), of Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Olorogun Williams Makinde, has denied all the media reports that he threaten to resign his position as the Managing Director of DESOPADEC over the disagreement with the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Monday Igbuya.
In a press statement signed by his Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on media, he noted that the report that the Speaker and the house members demanded billions of naira from him (Makinde) to pass the commission’s budget is false and advice the general public to disregard it in its entity.
The report is aimed at destroying my good relationship with the Honourable Speaker and the members of the House, whom have worked with us with all sincerity. Neither the Speaker nor any member of the house demanded any money from him or any member of the board of the commission.
The Speaker and the Honourable members of the State House of Assembly are people with proven characters and are very honest people who do not demand bribe from any people to the do their civic duties.
I wish to strongly advice the media to always do thorough findings before going to the press, because it is their duties to balance their reports which have been started by the ethics of their profession.
