Fresh shootings force business closure in Ekpan

There was pandemonium in Ekpan, Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State for about five minutes, between 12:34 and 12:40PM Tuesday January 19, 2016 when youths believed to be from Ekpan Community shot into the air, forcing LG Electronics and other shops under the Flyover leading to Warri Refining and Petrochemicals Company, WRPC to temporarily shut down businesses to avoid possible looting as experienced barely two weeks ago at Delta City Mall, (Shoprite) Effurun.

Our Correspondent who was at the scene of the incident, reports that the gun welding youths were about ten, even as pedestrians scampered for safety.

Meanwhile, the Senior Prefect, SP of Ekpan Secondary School, Ekpan, also in Uvwie Local Government Area has allegedly confessed to stealing of computers missing from the school.

The SP (name with-held) has been arrested alongside his accomplice by the Police. He reportedly opened up at the end of a three-day fasting and prayer programme organized by the school last week for Staff and Students, how he uses a master key to access all doors in the school, adding that he had to confess as a result of the effect the 3-day fasting and prayer programme had on him.

Three teachers of the School, including the Computer Science Teacher were recently arrested over 25 computer Sets that was stolen from school and they were released on bail after interrogation before the Senior Prefect of the school confessed to the crime.

The DPO of Ekpan Divisional Headquarters of the Nigerian Police, CSP Chris Sorgbara while confirming that several arrests have been made in relation to the theft of the computers, told Fresh Angle International that investigation was being intensified to bring the culprits to book.
