A Niger Delta based group, Buhari Youth Organization, BYO has described the recent bombing of crude and gas pipelines in Warri South-West Local Government Area, Delta State as “a selfish act of cowardice because the perpetrators cannot claim responsibility for their act of economic sabotage”.
In a press statement released in Warri on behalf of the group, the Coordinator, Mr. Victor Omunu identified impunity and corruption as the two most dangerous social vices in Nigeria and declared that no person or group of persons should “attempt to justify the crude and rude action of the perpetrators”.
The statement enjoined people of Warri South-West Local Government Area irrespective of ethnic divide to work closely with President Muhammadu Buhari’s government in order to rid the country of impunity and corruption.
According to BYO, “gone are the days when pretentious individuals or group of individuals would blow up oil facilities and be invited to Aso Rock Villa for dinner as witnessed in the past administration”, stressing that anyone caught in the act of destroying National assets should be treated as common criminals to serve as deterrent to others.
