Tidi identifies sustenance of democratic governance as means of resolving differences

Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael Tidi, has identified the sustenance of democratic governance as amicable and organized means of resolving differences, acknowledging that the ongoing Russia - Ukraine war, has brought untold hardship to the world.                     

Dr. Tidi, made the assertion  Sunday January 15, during the grand - finale of this year Armed Forces Remembrance Day, held at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri.

Whilst noting that the great sacrifices and altruism of our veteran soldiers can be immortalized by demonstrating the spirit of peaceful co - existence and tolerance with one another, Dr. Tidi, encouraged registered voters yet to collect their voter's card, to take advantage of the current window created by INEC to pick their voter's card.                   

He advised: " We should ensure that the unity of the nation, is placed above all other interests, so that our veteran soldiers, who died in the course of fighting for the unity of Nigeria, may not have done so in vain."                       

In his opening address, the Chairman of Nigerian Legion, Warri South Chapter, Major Pius Unurhiere (Retd.) appealed to Dr. Tidi, to build an office at Erejuwa Playground in Warri for the legionnaires and widows of the fallen heroes.                           

Major Unurhiere (Retd.) stated that the number of widows of the fallen heroes, are drastically increasing as a result of banditry, terrorism and other forms of insecurity across the county.

The colourful ceremony was attended by representatives of the Olu of Warri, Orosuen - In - Council of Okere Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, prominent Christian clerics in Warri, senior security personnel from different security agencies as well as political and community leaders.
