Ahead of the March 11 Governorship and House of Assembly elections, Delta State Labour Party Gubernatorial Candidate, Deacon Kennedy Pela, has promised to pay a monthly living wage of N100,000.00, ensure financial autonomy for Local Government Councils and create ten new cities in Delta State.

He explained that the ten new cities to be created, will have a central sewage system for conversion into fertilizer, with a view to boosting the agro-economy, improve power (electricity) and gas as well as revive the moribund industries/ports in the state. 

 

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, reports that Deacon Pela unveiled the agenda Monday January 16, when he led Delta State Labour Party Chairman, Chief Tony Ezeagwu, Labour Party House of Representatives candidate for Warri Federal Constituency, Ambassador Young Piero Omatseye, other candidates and chieftains of the party, on campaign visit to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, at Palace of the Olu in Warri, Warri South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Deacon Pela, said: “I have a vision to build a better Delta, where there is accountability and integrity, eliminate waste in governance and reorient our people to doing the right thing”.

 

The Governorship hopeful, also mentioned the monthly provision of social investment scheme of interest-free loans for 100 persons in each local government area across the state, as part of   his eight key prosperity drivers.

 

The  Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, in his brief response, said he was encouraged that the different array of individuals, who have presented themselves for the office of governor in the state, “are people who have the sincerity of heart.”

 

The Warri Monarch, prayed for the peace and safety of the guber candidate and his team as they campaign across the state.
