A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos, today, Thursday January 19, reportedly ruled that the Orodje of Okpe, General Felix Mujakperuo Rtd, lacks the authority to usurp the powers of management of Okpe Union.

Henry Ebireri, in a syndicated reports, claimed that the Court also declared that the Delta Monarch and a music teacher in Delta State University, have no power to dissolve, suspend, alter or replace Presiding Officers or members of the National Executive Council of the Okpe Union.

According to Ebireri, in the judgement delivered in favour of the Prof. Igho Natufe led National Executive Council, the Court said it was illegal to take over the control of an incorporated association.

The Court, reportedly declared that Professor Idolor and his co-travellers acted ultra vires their powers when they issued press statements purporting to dissolve the National Executive Council and replacing the members with an interim management committee.

The Court, averred that the purported appointment of Professor Idolor and other members of his interim management committee by the Orodje of Okpe and the taking over of the affairs of the Okpe Union as null, void and of no effect.

Particularly, the Court granted an order of injunction restraining the Corporate Affairs Commission, their servants, agents and/or privies from recognizing, processing, considering, assenting, conferring legitimacy or giving effect to any act, directive or process initiated by the Orodje and Prof. Idolor led group.

The Court, also granted an order of injunction restraining Prof Idolor and other members of his interim management committee from parading themselves as the Management Committee of the Okpe Union.
