Breaking: INEC writes IGP, demands prosecution of its REC in Adamawa

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has written the Inspector-General of Police, IGP, requesting the immediate investigation and possible prosecution of the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State, Barr. Hudu Yunusa Ari.

Fresh Angle International scooped from a statement dropped few minutes ago on the Commission’s twitter handle, that the request to the IGP, was fallout of the meeting held today, Tuesday April 18, by the Commission, regarding matters arising from the Adamawa Governorship election.

INEC, also requested the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, to draw the attention of the appointing authority to the unwholesome behaviour of the REC for further action, adding: “The collation process shall resume at a time to be determined by the Returning Officer.”
