Prominent Okere indigenes explain celebration of Ologbotsere Emami’s birthday

Pioneer Chairman of Okere Community Youths and foremost defender of Itsekiri course, Prince David Iwere, another ex- chairman of Okere Community Youths, Ufuoma Ugburoh, a member of the Warri Royal Family and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Prince Stanley Oritsemolebi Emiko as well as an Ologbotsere Descendant, Prince Bumi Ireyefoju, on Wednesday April 26, explained the reasons for the celebration of the birthday of the Ologbotsere of Warri, Chief Ayirimi Emami.

 

 Highlights of the birthday bash:

 

Prince David Iwere, who is also an Ologbotsere Descendant, Ufuoma Ugburoh, Prince Stanley Oritsemolebi Emiko and Prince Bumi Ireyefoju, told Fresh Angle International at Okere Community Town Hall in the heart of Warri, main venue of the celebration, that they decided to honour Ologbotsere Emami on his birthday (today Wednesday April 26) as a sign of, “our love, brotherliness, kindness and support he (Chief Emami) has rendered to the community (Okere) as well as the many lives he has positively impacted on over the years.”

Prince Iwere, also noted that it was to reassure Chief Emami that the people are behind him in the struggle for better Itsekiri Nation and Nigeria at large, just as Ugburoh added: “People are also celebrating Chief Emami at Ubeji and other parts of the country.”

“Okere has been existing for over 532 years as the aboriginal community in Warri and we are with Chief Ayirimi Emami as the Ologbotsere of Warri”, Ugburoh averred.

 

“Chief Ayiri Emami remains the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, God Almighty is watching over him and the ancestors are with him”, Prince Bumi Ireyefoju, opined.
