The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area in Delta State, Dr. Michael Tidi, has challenged Executive Intelligence Officers, to lend their voice on the imperative for the Federal Government to activate Delta Port, Warri and make it function optimally, in view of challenges being posed by globalization, as its affects regional integration and sustainable development in Africa.

Dr. Tidi, handed down the challenge at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri, Delta State, Thursday May 11, when he played host to the participants of Executive Intelligence Management Course 16, National Institute of Security Studies, Abuja.
According to the Warri South Local Government Boss, the different cultures and economics are becoming connected, because of the influence of large multinational companies and the improved communication, hence the need for everyone to brace up and face the emerging challenges in the areas of technology, financial, social and economic development, by improving critical infrastructures and formulating policies that would enable the country attain its pride of place in the comity of nations.

Whilst describing the tour of participants of Executive Intelligence Management Course 16 of National Institute of Security Studies, as well timed due to the recent upsurge in security challenges across the country, Dr. Tidi, recalled: “My administration in the month of January this year, observed the deficient wealth distribution in the Local Government Area and embarked on the empowerment of 250 business operators, who are at the bottom of economic pyramid to enable them access credit for the boosting of their business.”
He explained that Warri South Local Government Council, has been working tirelessly based on his administration’s mandate and available resources, to improve on the ease of doing business as well as advance the economy of people living in Warri South Local Government Area.

The Director, Coordination and Liaison, Mrs. Emiloye Oyeyele, who led the participants of Executive Intelligence Management Course 16, National Institute of Security Studies, stated that at the end of the study tour, which will go beyond the shores of Nigeria, the participants will present executive brief to the National Security Adviser, NSA, who will forward same to the President, for policy formulation.
Mrs. Oyeyele, told Dr. Tidi: “We want to interact with you on how globalization, has impacted on governance at the local government level and identify challenges, your administration is facing.”
