The management of Premium Steel and Mines Limited, owners of the assets of Delta Steel Company, Ovwian-Aladja, Delta State has issued stern warning to PWAN Heritage Limited, a property development company, to stay away from the DSC lands close to the trailer park just before the steel plant, stressing that whoever buys property or builds on any of those lands is into wasteful venture.
According to the Director of Legal Affairs, Premium Steel and Mines Limited, Barr Emmanuel Agbaje, the warning has become imperative because of some unwholesome activities by land grabbers/speculators and trespassers including but not limited to PWAN Heritage in and around the DSC lands acquired for the purpose of expanding the company in due course, advising that whoever parades any title to those lands already acquired by the Federal Government is not acting in good faith.
Barr Agbaje, explained that those lands were already acquired by the Federal Government and that it will take the appropriate agency of government to release those lands and not families and community leaders from whom the property were acquired many years ago.
He emphasized that those parading whatever papers/documents to back up their illegal actions are being economical with the truth and are in for a wild goose chase because the Federal Government, who acquired the property, is not even aware of any contrary claim concerning those lands.
As important stakeholders in the steel dream of the Federal Government, we expect all to be genuinely interested in the full revitalization of the company which will impact positively on the lives of the good people of Udu Kingdom, Delta State and Nigeria at large.
‘’Once that is done, there shall be expansion into those lands where PWAN Heritage and other trespassers are trying to encroach. The full assurance we want to give our people in Udu, Delta state and Nigeria at large is that the company will come up fully soon or very soon, and once that is done, there shall be need for expansion.
‘’As a responsible corporate citizen of this area, Premium Steel and Mines Limited wishes to warn PWAN Heritage not to waste their money on this land for the purpose of developing any property in the said area as the consequences will certainly be severe. PSML thereafter advised utmost caution because the Federal Government will not fold her arms and watch trespassers take over her lands. The authority has been duly informed and very soon, the Federal Government will take steps to arrest the situation and when that is done, those who invest their money into acquiring property in this area will shed bitter tears. To be forewarned is to be forearmed’’, the statement added.
