The Member Representing Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro Federal Constituency of Kogi State, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Ali Halims, has emerged as the deputy leader of the 10th House of Representatives.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Hon. Halims' emergence was announced by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Dr. Abbas Tajudeen, at the resumed plenary sitting of the House of Representatives on Tuesday July 4.
According to Comr. Muhammed Nasiru, a Legislative Aide to the new Deputy House Leader who monitored the proceedings, Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Halims' announcement received a very loud ovation from honourable members in clear testament to his wide acceptance.
The New Deputy House Leader who is a second-term member of the House succeeds Hon. Peter Ohio Akpatason, a fourth term member representing Ako-Edo Federal Constituency of Edo State.
Also named as Principal Officers by the Speaker were Chairman of the House Ad-hoc Committee on Legislative Agenda, Prof Julius Ihonvbere as Majority Leader and Rep. Usman Bello Kumo who served as Chairman of the 10th Assembly Joint Task Committee was named Chief Whip of the House.
