A prominent indigene of Bateren Community and Leader of Warri South-West Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Emiko Odin-Etuwewe, has thanked the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, “for the initiative in picking the right committee”, which led to the emergence of Dr. Peter Etchie and Friday Etuwewe as Chairman and Secretary, respectively, of Caretaker Committee of Bateren Community.

Fresh Angle International, understands that the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, had constituted a Peace Committee headed by former Regent of Warri Kingdom, Emma Okotie-Eboh, with a legal luminary, Ama Etuwewe (SAN), Justice Edun (Rtd.) among others as members, with a view to making recommendation for the inauguration of an acceptable leadership for Bateren Community in Warri South-West Local Government Area.

In a statement made available to This Soaring International Tabloid, today, Monday October 9, Rt. Hon. Emiko Odin-Etuwewe, who appreciated members of the Peace Committee, constituted by revered Warri Monarch for their good work, noted that the selection of the membership of the Caretaker Committee for Bateren Community, “covers every family that make up the oil-rich community.”

 

Whilst congratulating Dr. Peter Etchie, Friday Etuwewe and other members of the Caretaker Committee, whose inauguration was reportedly done at the Olu Palace, Warri, the Warri South-West Legislative Leader, averred: “I charge them to do a blue print for infrastructural development of Bateren Community, embark on transparent human capital empowerment projects and come out with a draft constitution for the workings of the community, within their two-year mandate.”

This Newspaper can report that the Warri South-West Local Government Council number one legislator, today, presented grinding machines to some women in Bateren, “in fulfilment of my empowerment programme to women in Bateren, which is in batches.”
