The socio-economic life of residents of Warri, Effurun and environs may plunge further, following a week-long blackout notice issued by the Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC.
The blackout alert issued by BEDC on its X handle this morning, Monday December 4, noted that the outage, is expected to run from 12.00am Monday December 4 to 7pm Friday December 8.
Findings by Fresh Angle International, revealed that most parts of Warri in Warri South Local Government Area, Effurun in Uvwie Local Government Area and Jeddo in Okpe Local Government Area, have been in darkness since Saturday December 2.
According to the outage alert by BEDC management, the planned power outage, will affect PTI, Airport Road, Sapele road, Effurun, Warri and environs.
“The outage is necessary to allow our technical team replace damaged panels in our Okoloba injection substation. This will significantly improve power supply in the affected areas”, the company, explained.
