Popular on air personality and entertainer in Kogi State, Agu John Ochiagu, prominently known as MC Universe, has celebrated his 10 years in the entertainment industry.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that MC Universe, who is well known for his heart provocating jokes to spice the mind and heart of his audience, on Saturday night organized Afri comedy night 2.0 in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Tagged my ten years experience, the event was graced by prominent personalities from different works of life who believes that the occasion was indeed historic as it met the demands and yearnings of those in attendance.
Speaking at the event, the organizer Agu John Ochiagu who was highly elated with the show of love given to him in the last ten years to excel in the entertainment industry stated that his success so far signifies hope for the common Man on the street.
The young entertainer who recounted that his journey began since 2013 expressed gratitude to God almighty, his parents and fans for their support in ensuring that he achieve his dream in Kogi State and Nigeria in general.
According to him, the event which is also meant to promote the rich cultural heritage of Nigeria as a nation will help to promote value system and ensure that citizens appreciate, respects norm of their society.
While thanking all and sundry for their show of love in making the event a reality, the young promising comedian admonished up coming artists not to give up in their dreams but ensure that, they contribute their own quota in moving Nigeria entertainment industry to the next level.
Continuing, the Ebonyi State born artist said" It is indeed a dream come through for me in the entertainment industry. When I started as a young comedian in this industry, it was rough but I thank God almighty that it is now becoming a smooth ride for me and my entire team. My life experience remains a testimony for others to emulate. It is important to note that nothing comes easily when you are determined to achieve your goal in life.
"Afri comedy night 2.0 which tries to substantiate my 10 years experience in the entertainment industry is not only to make people laugh and put away their sorrows but to also ensure the preservation of our cultural heritage which is being relegated by the present generation.
" Nigeria as a nation is rich with culture, and traditions hence it is our collective responsibility to protect our moral values to correct the wrongs in our Country. Nigeria remains the best Country in the world that is why am using my 10 years experience in the entertainment industry to sustain what we have been preaching which is good moral standard and preservation of our rich cultural heritage which symbolizes peace, unity and the identity of our great nation".
While showering encomium on what they have seen on Afri comedy night 2.0, some entertainers who spoke to journalists said the event has further open their eyes that Nigeria comedy industry is setting a template for others to follow in the world.
The Chairman, Kogi State Comedian Association Moses Isaac, popularly known as St Moscow described comedy as a very serious business which should not be taken for granted.
Isaac, who has been in the entertainment industry for over two decades lauded the harmonious relationship that have existed among members of the association.
He disclosed that it wasn't a thing of surprise that Crème de la crème graced the Afri comedy night 2.0 organized by MC Universe stressing that, it further demonstrates that Nigerians appreciates the hard work of comedians in the Country.
In a chat with one of the most talented DJ in Kogi State, Ernest Jegede well known as DJ E, he posited that MC Universe has made name in the entertainment industry hence the need for him to be celebrated for his contribution towards humanity.
He emphacized that the promising entertainer remains a candle light for those who thought that all is gone following the harsh economic and unfavorable condition of the nation.
"All the entertainers in Kogi State are well pleased with the achievement of our brother MC Universe. He has done well in the last 10 years. We are very optimistic that this young lad will continue to make waves in the years to come. Once again, am saying a big congratulations to one of the most promising, and talented comedian Agu John Ochiagu fondly known by his stage name MC Universe.
" Todays occasion remains a milestone for the total transformation and reformation of Kogi State entertainment industry. Our culture remains the bedrock of our value system. It is important for us to protect, and preserve it which this Afri comedy night 2.0 stands for. This program is timely that is why I must give kudos to the organizer"he stated.

D J Sagbata appreciated the Kogi Government for their support in promoting the entertainment industry in the State.
Umar, particularly commended Kogi State Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for providing an enabling environment for young talents to excel, stressing that, the incoming administration will do more in the discovery of young talents in the State.
On his part, a talented Comedian Aquila Edeh known by his stage name Funny Aquila congratulated MC Universe for attaining such a remarkable feat in his career.
The talented Comedian stressed the need for Government at all level to support raw talents who have given their best to bring smiles to the people of the Country.
He maintained that, in the next few years, Kogi State entertainers will be taking over the space of Nigeria entertainment industry, adding that, it is time for well to do individuals to invest in raw talents who will continue to showcase the Confluence State positively among comity of States.
