Okere-Urhobo Youth Leadership: Heads of Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu families back Warri South Council

The Heads of Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu kindred families of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, say they stand with the resolution reached at the recent security council meeting convened by the Warri South Local Government Council, which zoned offices of the youth exco of the kingdom to the five major families that make up the kingdom.

Recall that at the end of the expanded security meeting held Saturday December 16 at the Warri South Council Lodge, Oki family was mandated to produce the Chairman of Okere - Urhobo youth leadership, Olodi family got the nod to nominate the Vice Chairman, leaving the position of Secretary to Makro family.

The other exco positions in respect to how it was zoned are as follow: " PRO; Itifo family, Financial Secretary; Ighogbadu family, Treasurer: Olodi family, Assistant Secretary; Itifo family, Chief Whip; Oki family, Cultural Officer; Olodi family, Organizing Secretary; Makro family, Auditor; Ighogbadu family and Sanitary Officer; Ighogbadu family.

The position of Heads of Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu kindred families of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, was contained in an electronic statement made available to Our Principal Correspondent, yesterday evening, Monday December 18.

The statement credited to the Okpako-Orere (eldest man) of the kingdom and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu kindred families of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Apostle A. M.I. Eraivor, noted: “RE; DISBANDMENT OF YOUTH ACTIVITY AND ATTEMPTS TO RECONSTITUTE YOUTH HODY IN OKERE-URHOBO KINGDOM BY MICHAEL TIDI (CHAIRMAN WARRI SOUTH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA.

“The decisions reached at the office of the Local Government Chairman during those meetings held is what we the three heads of the Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu kindred families of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom stand with.

“The people of Okere-Urhobo and the general public, we are heads of the Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu Kindred families of Okere-Urhobo kingdom, Warri. There is no gainsaying that our ancestors founded the entire of Okere-Urhobo and that aside these three families aforementioned no other families co-founded Okere- Urhobo Kingdom.

“Our attention has been drawn to the cacophony of His Majesty, Ogheneochuko Eyekpimi (The Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo), Brigadier General (Chief Gold Eburu (Rtd) (The Otota Of Okere-Urhobo kingdom) and their cohorts.

“Sequel to the meetings held in the office of the Chairman of the Warri South Local Government Area on 10th day of December, 2023 and 16th December, 2023 about the Uprising issues Of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, which all parties concern were ably represented.

“The issues were that His Majesty, Ogheneochuko Eyekpimi (The Orosue of Okere-Urhobo), Brigadier General (Chief) Gold Eburu (Rtd) (The Otota Of Okere-Urhobo kingdom) and their cohorts single handedly amended the working constitution and appointed Youth Executives, which the Olodi branch of the kindred and a large number of the Palace Chiefs protested and withdrew their support from such illegalities.

“Following the sittings of these meetings, the Chairman of the Local Government Area (Michael Tidi) gave directives disbanding the illegal constituted Youth Executive owing to security threat, asking that names be sent from the divides of the Kingdom for an appointment of an Interim Youth Executive pending the amendment of the constitution, conduction of a credible election for a substantive Youth Executive which is the prerogative of the President-General and the general body of the youth and parties all agreed that the constitution single handedly amended by His Majesty be amended to reflect the correct position, which all parties consented to.

“We wish to bring to your minds that this was the exact incidence that occurred in 2020 in our Kingdom that the extant Chairman of our Local Government Area helped resolved amicably same way he is doing now when the then King, His Majesty Emmanuel Onu) and Others, including the extant King protested the Local Government Chairman to intervene just like they have done in this
current situation. That when the incidence occurred in 2020, by the unanimous agreement of all parties a Caretaker Committee which Emu Eburu was the chairman was appointed which ushered in a substantive Youth Executive election where Brume Eyekpimi was the Chairman following a credible
election.

“His Majesty, Ogheneochuko Eyelpimi (The Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo) and his cohorts have gone ahead to hire thugs and miscreants, following the decisions reached at the aforementioned meetings held at the office of the Local Government Chairman to stage fictitious protest only to arm-twist the
Chairman of the Local Government being the Chief Security Officer of the Local Government Area to shy away from keeping the peace and order in the Local Government Area so they can have a free way to execute their plans which is invariable the breakdown of law and order.

“The decisions reached at the office of the Local Government Chairman during those meetings held is what we the three heads of the Olodi, Oki and Ighogbadu kindred families of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom stand with.

“That any other action save for the decisions reached at the aforesaid office will breach
the peace of the kingdom and cause severe damage. That if it eventually happens, the Nigerian Police and the general public should hold the following persons responsible: His Majesty, Ogheneochuko Eyekpimi (The Orosue of Okere-Urhobo), Brigadier General (Chief) Gold Eburu (Rtd) (The Otota Of
Okere-Urhobo kingdom), John Eraivor and Frank Okolobe. Violence is not a prerogative of some persons.”
