The Oshodi of Warri Kingdom, Chief (Engr.) Anthony Onuwaje, says giving thanks to God is highly profitable, hence members of the Onuwaje family will continually give thanks to God, in order to attract His support at all times.

 

Chief Onuwaje, made the declaration in Warri, Sunday December 24 when members of the prominent Onuwaje family of Warri kingdom, did their annual family thanksgiving to God, to appreciate Him for His goodness and protection in the last one year.

 

Chief Onuwaje commended members of the family for their support towards the success of the event, assuring that the year 2024 will be greater.

An elder of the family, Deaconess Orode Onuwaje Tuyin, said the Onuwaje family originated from Omadino, Bateren and Dale-Keta in Warri South, Warri South-West and Warri North Local Government Areas of Delta state. According to her, the family has produced successful sons and daughters, spread across different parts of the world. 

 

Deaconess Orode, commended the efforts of the chairman of the family organising committee for the 2023 thanksgiving day, Quincy Onuwaje and members of his exco, for putting up what she described as a unique programme.

 

She said the arrangement which brought about food bank reception, where family members got rice, tubers of yam, bunch of plantains, vegetable oil, packs of salt and other groceries, via lucky deep, was innovative. 

 

Chairman of the 2023 Onuwaje family day thanksgiving/celebration, Quincy Onuwaje, appreciated members of the family for their donation In making the event possible, adding that this year's edition, which was 18th in the series, came with introduction of food bank and will be sustained in subsequent editions.

Our Principal Correspondent reports that members of the Onuwaje family started the celebration with a special thanksgiving at Foursquare Gospel Church, Ekurede-Itsekiri, Warri.                     

 

The thanksgiving service was Presided over by the Midwest Regional Coordinator of Foursquare Gospel Church, Rev. Samson Alawade.                  

 

In a message titled, "Much More than this" the Christian cleric, who took his text from 2Corinthians 25 and Matthew 14:30, prayed God to give members of the Onuwaje family good health, charging them to always see reasons to praise and give thanks to God.
