A leading chairmanship aspirant for Warri South Local Government Area in the forthcoming Delta State Local Government election, Comr. L. Monoyo Edon, has congratulated Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, on his victory at the Supreme Court today, Friday January 19.
In a unanimous decision, a five-member panel of the apex court, dismissed an appeal by the All Progressives Congress, APC, and its candidate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege.
Comrade Edon, in a statement, averred that Governor Oborevwori, swept 21 out of the 25 Local Government Areas in the gubernatorial election held March 2023.
Speaking exclusively with Fresh Angle International immediately after the judgement, the Chairmanship contender, who has been an avid advocate of the M.O.R.E Agenda in Warri South Local Government Area, said that the victory did not come as a surprise, " because the Governor is very popular with Deltans."
He said: “Indeed, Governor Oborevwori’s Supreme Court Victory is testament to the fact that Deltans are happy with his popular M.O.R.E Agenda. He won with a landslide. That shows you how popular he is with Deltans. We did flinch for one second through the tortuous legal battles, which has now culminated in this victory."
The chairmanship hopeful, who doubled as Media Assistant to both former Governors ( Dr.) Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, and Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, appealed to Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege and other members of the opposition to embrace the M.O.R.E Agenda, " as the Governor channels all his focus towards doling out the dividends of democracy to all Deltans."
