Supreme Court Victory: Warri South PDP stages jubilation-walk for Oborevwori

Members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, earlier today, Friday January 19, staged jubilation-walk across major roads and streets in Warri, chanting songs and singing praises, in celebration of the affirmation of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s victory at the Supreme Court.

 

Our Senior Roving Correspondent, who covered the jubilation-walk, reports that Chairman of PDP in Warri South Local Government Area, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe, led the party faithful and supporters across Esisi Road, Main (Dore)Market, Hausa Quarter, Deco Road, Estate Roundabout and other areas in the Oil City, before rounding off at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat. 

 

Warri South PDP Chairman, Johnson Agbeyegbe, while addressing newsmen during the rally, expressed appreciation to God Almighty for His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sherriff Oborevwori over the Supreme Court’s victory, saying: “The victory is a celebration of democracy, a celebration of the judiciary and a celebration of the will of the people.

“Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, was duly elected by the People and some people decided to challenge it, which is their right to do so, but it is the right of the Supreme Court to give judgement, according to the rules of law.

 

“I know Deltans are excited, because since the day the Governor mounted the seat, Deltans have been happy and we want it to continue.” 

 

The Warri South PDP Chair, implored Deltans, irrespective of their political affiliations, to join hands with Governor Oborevwori, in moving the state forward, adding, “we are all Deltans first, before any political party.” 

 

The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, who spoke through Secretary to Warri South Local Government, Mr. Joseph Oribioye, said, the victory of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori at the Supreme Court, shows, “he won the March 18th gubernatorial election in Delta State.
