Chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party in Okere - Urhobo, Warri, Mr. Elvis Okpako Eboh, says the swift action initiated by the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, which resulted in the resolutions reached by Warri South Council Peace Committee as regards the controversial billboard erected at Urhobo House, Okere Road, Warri, averted fresh crisis in Warri.
Eboh, who is the serving Supervisor for Community Development, Youths, Sports and Culture in Warri South Local Government Council, asserted that the outcome of the state government's intervention on the issue, reinforced the proactive action of Warri South Local Government Peace Committee, ably led by the Warri South Local Government Chief Security Officer, Dr. Michael Tidi.
According to Eboh, the commendations Warri South Chairman, Dr. Tidi, has so far received from the leadership of Urhobo Progressive Union and members of the civil society in Delta state, during separate working visits to the Council Boss, Tuesday and Wednesday this week, are profound testament of Dr. Tidi's excellent and unbiased leadership style.
Whilst thanking representatives of Okere and Agbarha communities in Warri, for pledging commitment towards sustainable peace in Warri and by extension other parts of the state, Eboh advised social media activists, to desist from remarks capable of instigating ethnic strife in Warri.
" We should avoid acts that are inimical to the development strides of our amiable governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, especially ongoing and planned development projects in Warri," Eboh, added.
