The Delta State Chapter of the United Support Groups, USG, has disowned a certain 'Obidients Youths for PDP, ' which is believed to have perfected plans to stage rally February 25.

Fresh Angle International can report that Delta State Chairman of the United Support Groups, Comrade Favour Emerure, made the position of the body known Friday February 16 ,at Orhuwhorun Road, Udu, during a press briefing.

The press briefing, was attended by the Delta State Governorship Candidate of Labour Party in the 2023 general polls, Deacon Kennedy Pela, the party's candidate for Warri Federal Constituency in the last election, Amb. Young Piero Omatseye and other chieftains of the party as well as prominent Obidients in the state.

Comrade Emerure in an address on behalf of the apex Obidient group in Delta state, noted: "We are here today for a press conference refuting the 'Obidient Youths for PDP,' being circulated all over the state that they are proposing a rally in Agbor on the 25th of February 2024.

"We wish to state categorically that the United Support Groups, is the umbrella body of Obidients in the state and we are here to refute every fake news being circulated in Delta North Senatorial District, most especially in Ika North Federal Constituency.

"It should be noted that there is nothing like 'Obidient youths for PDP' and we the Obidients are not involved in any collaboration with any political party whatsoever in the state; and we are not organizing any inauguration or rally on the 25th of February 2024. So all members and supporters of the Obidient groups and Deltans should not be deceived.

"We are not surprised that Labour party and the Obidient movement at large remains a threat to other political parties in the state, most especially in Ika Federal Constituency; and we won overwhelmingly the election in Ika Federal Constituency. So I am using this medium to call on our vribrant youths all over the state not to relent in their drive for good governance. They should remain resilient and law abiding and remain hopeful for that desired change that we are yearning for."

In his remarks, Delta State Labour Party Governorship Candidate for the 2023 poll, Deacon Kennedy Pela, said;: "it is clear to everybody that the Labour Party driven by the Obidient movement, won the last Presidential and Governorship elections.

"We were all here when the candidates of PDP and APC began to Promote 'Sherrifed Obidients' and Obidients for Agege'. Even after going through the legal process, they couldn't convince themselves, instead they are still clamouring for Obidients for PDP?

"So it is clear that they are scared, it is clear that because they didn't win the general election, they want to begin to divide the Obidient movement from now to the next elections, because we are now more United."

While advising Deltans to continue to stand firm, Pela stressed, "the sufferings of the past 24-year must definitely come to an end and the process has started, God has started that process and he must definitely complete it, So Deltans, continue to stand firm, because a better Delta is surely possible," he declared.
