The Chairman of Etsako East Local Government in Edo State, Princess Benedicta Attoh, has declared that Etsako East Local Government Councils, would be among the first local government councils in Nigeria to migrate from analog system of operations to digital governance.
She said the opportunities associated with digital governance, outweigh the challenges in terms of service delivery.
Princess Attoh, reportedly mentioned the opportunities to include efficient service delivery, easier storage and retrieval of information, human resources development, as well as ease of conducting government business.
The Council Boss, who addressed the media during the ongoing E-Government Training, organized by the Edo State Government to empower the local government workforce, said Etsako East Local Government Council, will immediately embark on digital infrastructural development, to fast-track the comprehensive digital governance initiatives.
Whilst expressing her willingness to partner relevant digital organizations in achieving her objectives, Attoh, appealed to local Government workers to open up themselves to new knowledge and be willing to develop themselves, so as to remain relevant in the current digital dispensation, in-line with the new direction of the public service system.
