Opuoru adopted as leader of PDP in Okere-Urhobo, Warri

The lawmaker, who represented Warri South Constituency II in Delta State House of Assembly during the last political dispensation, Hon. Matthew Poko Opuoru, has been adopted as the leader of Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri, Fresh Angle International, can report.

The acceptance of Hon. Opuoru, a one-time Commissioner in Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, as the new leader of PDP in Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, held in Warri, Delta State, Sunday March 24, following the adoption of a motion moved by the immediate past Supervisor for Community Development, Youth, Sports and Culture in Warri South Local Government Council, Mr. Elvis Okpako Eboh.

This Newspaper, understands that the motion which was seconded by Hon. Akpos Eburu, a former Councilor in Warri South Council Legislative Arm, was consequent upon recommendation by a high-powered committee headed by Chief Femi Okumagba.

The immediate past two-time Vice Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Chief (Mrs.) Divine Ann Iniovosa, a prominent member of the defunct Warri South Local Government Council Transition Committee, Mr. Davies Akhigbe, Senior Aides of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, such as Chief Ochuko Maduku, Ejiro Okumagba, Onoriode Obada as well as former Councilors and Supervisors in Warri South Council, including Mr. Alex Edah, were among scores of eminent PDP members that were present during the adoption of Hon. Opuoru as leader of PDP in Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Warri.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Opuoru, stated: “We must forge ahead, very soon, we will compile list that will be sent to government. I accept your motion as the leader of Okere-Urhobo. We will form a committee that will go and deliver the message to Chief (Dr.) Israel Abido (JP) to formally notify him that I am the authentic Vice Chairman of Warri-Urhobo PDP leaders.”
