The crisis in Delta State chapter of Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN appears to be deepening as the Uvwie local government chapter of the party has refuted a statement credited to the party Publicity Secretary, Mr. Frank Eghomien, wherein he described Dr. Veronica Ogbuagu as a PDP impostor in ACN.
In a Press Statement titled “Re: Call for Okotie – Eboh’s removal laughable – Delta ACN", the Uvwie Chapter of the party accused the party Publicity Secretary, Mr. Frank Eghomien of lacking knowledge regarding happenings in Delta ACN, adding that, “Dr. Veronica Ogbuagu who was ACN House of Representatives candidate for Uvwie, Okpe and Sapele federal constituency in 2011 election single handedly brought ACN to Uvwie local government and has shouldered the burden of the party till date”.
The statement which was signed by the Acting State Financial Secretary, Mr. Joel Umukoro and the Uvwie local government area Publicity Secretary, Mr. Okorefe Mudiaga enjoined Mr. Eghomien to withdraw his statement which they described as hilarious forthwith and tender an unreserved apology.
The Uwvie chapter of the party noted that Dr. Ogbuagu never attended any meeting at Asaba where a vote of confidence was purportedly passed on the State Party Chairman as claimed by the Party Publicity Secretary.
