PDP Chieftain as well as strong advocate for the actualisation of Itsekiri rights in the oil and gas industry, Comrade Collins Edema, has commended the adoption of Hon. Festus Ashima as PDP Chairmanship candidate for Warri North in the forthcoming July 13 Delta State LG election, saying the party leaders at the LGA chose the right candidate.
Edema, who is from the same Eghoro Ward as Hon. Ashima, opined that the acceptance of Hon. Ashima by prominent Itsekiri and Ijaw leaders " as evident in his endorsement today in Sapele," speaks volume of Hon. Ashima 's broad - based popularity and confidence in his ability to provide good governance in Warri North Local Government Area.

Whilst expressing strong optimism that Hon. Ashima will emerge Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area after the July poll, Edema posited that Hon. Ashima would bring his experience as former councillor and PDP youth leader in Warri North to bear in the" efficient administration of the riverine dominated local government area, as an indigene of oil bearing coastal community."
Edema, advised Hon. Ashima to reach out to others who were aspirants to the Warri North Chairmanship seat, in a bid to solidify consensus and set the stage for accelerated development of Warri North Local Government Area.
