Contractual issue prevented me from signing for Riga FC in Latvia - Warri-born footballer, Ebule opens up

Former Warri Wolves and Shooting Stars of Ibadan Utility Striker, Jonathan Ebule, has revealed that contractual issue between a top Latvia based club, Riga FC and his agent (name withheld) prevented him from inking a deal with the North-Eastern European club few seasons ago.

Jonathan, whose late father Samson Oritseweyinmi Ebule, was captain of the original Warri Wolves, several decades back, made the disclosure to Fresh Angle International today, Thursday May 30, during an exclusive chat, on his return from training.

The Okere-Warri born pacy outside left attacker, who also plays number 10 and 9 positions occasionally, said Adamawa United in Nigeria National League, NNL, was the last club he starred for during the 2022/ 2023 abridged league season, scoring four goals in eight matches.

While stating that Warri Wolve loaned to Shooting Stars FC in the 2019/2020 season, Jonathan, who spent about five seasons sharpening his football skills at Real Sapphire Academy in Lagos, disclosed that free scoring Bayer Leverkusen Striker, Victor Boniface, was his junior at Real Sapphire Academy.

“I once went on training tour in Egypt, Germany, Malta, Turkey and Dubai, where I had contact with Riga FC of Latvia. Riga FC, was on pre-season training in Dubai, when I met officials and players of the team, few seasons back.

“I want to play one season in Nigeria league and head up to Europe. I will like to start with Central Europe, then move to the big European leagues”, the lanky Jonathan, emphasized.
