Ughelli North Council Secretariat shut, passengers sent back at Nigeria Railway station in Ujevwu as NLC, TUC strike gathers momentum

 The main gate  of Ughelli North Council Secretariat and offices in Ughelli North Local Government Area,were  under lock and key this morning,  Our Principal Correspondent in Ughelli North, reports.                    

Passengers, who went to the Nigerian Railway Corporation station at Ujevwu in Udu Local Government Area, were sent back home as a result of the strike .                                  

A lady in her mid sixties , Ogbe Irene and her grandson , Jason Hope , who were at Rail station in Ujevwu , for their planned journey to Itakpe  in Kogi state , enroute Abuja, were among passengers asked to return home this morning by officials of the Nigerian Railway Corporation at Ujevwu.          

Recall that This Newspaper, earlier reported this morning that a joint monitoring team of Organized Labour,  shutdown the corporate headquarters of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC in Warri, Delta State.                                        

The monitoring team, comprising officials of Nigeria Union of Teachers, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE and other affiliates of the NLC, ensured that workers of DESOPADEC and the Commission 's leadership, weren't allowed entry into the office.                        

As at the time of this report, local government secretariats in the state, were also under lock and key, as Nigerians await official response from the Presidency and the Nigeria Governors ' Forum, NGF.
