A cooking gas cylinder, used by a "Mama-Put" (operator of a local canteen) exploded at about 10.00am today, Wednesday July 3, at the popular Nupe line in Igbudu Market, Warri, causing monumental damage to shop owners within that vicinity.
Our Correspondent, who dashed to the scene, reports that the explosion occurred in an area close to ‘packing store’ (warehouse) where insecticides and other flammable materials are kept.
The Nigerian Navy's fire truck eventually reached the scene after several hours, by which time significant damage had already been done to the surrounding goods.
Fresh Angle International, can report that there were no human casualties or injuries, even as local vigilantes from Igbudu/Hausa quarters, along with area boys, took measures to keep people away from scene of the inferno.

Several stores in the vicinity, were affected by the blaze, leading to considerable infrastructural damage and loss of goods.
Despite the swift action by community responders, delay in the arrival of the fire truck exacerbated the extent of damage.
