NECO Coordinator Pays Courtesy Visit To Maigari Of Lokoja, seeks support


 

The Maigari Of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir, Maikarfi IV has commended the new State Coordinator of the National Examination Council, NECO, Kogi state, Mr. Thadeus Ajabu for embarking on public enlightenment informing the public about the importance of the examination body in the state.

 

Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the Maigari made the commendation while recieving the State Coordinator of NECO, Thadeus Ajabu weekend at his Royal palace in Lokoja, Kogi State.

 

 

It would be recalled that Mr. Ajabu had visited several ministries, parastatals, agencies and various communities to create awareness to parents and students for them to know that the National Examination council (NECO)  has long been duelly registered and recognized in Nigeria and African countries.

 

 

Ajabu's visit to the monarch’s palace is to introduce himself as the newly posted State Coordinator and also to seek collaboration with the traditional institution in the area that could enhance the body’s operational efficiency in the state.

 

According to him, “The future of this country is in our hands, whatever we turn out as finished products through national examination, is what our tertiary institutions will admit because they must admit students if they don’t want to close down.

 

“You owe it a duty to give us the best for the sake of our future. I am just knowing much about your Examination council, we use to know about WAEC, because during our time in the secondary school, it was WAEC examination but well, I'm happy that NECO is now generally accepted in Six Africa countries, he stressed.

 

Earlier, the  new state Coordinator of NECO, Kogi state office , Mr. Thadeus Ajabu thanked the Maigari Of Lokoja, Alhaji Ibrahim Gambo Kabir for the reception given to the delegation, He said the general believe of the public was a wrong perception about NECO, saying the National Examination Council has not only been accepted all over the country, but in Six African countries.

 

“We are glad with our revered father’s blessings and I promised to continue to embarked on visiting the market women, traders, farmers and fishermen around the communities in kogi state to inform them about the importance, and why there children should write NECO Examination, We are not folding arms because of the importance and strategic position we find ourselves. 

 

He called for the collaboration of His Royal Highness, other stakeholders, according to him, 'NECO needs the cooperation of everybody to succeed'.

 

He commended the Registrar/CE of NECO, Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi for his administrative acumen saying he has commissioned several permanent office complexes in different states in the country, adding that the permanent office in Lokoja, Kogi state is about to be completed and will be commissioned soon, he said.

 

The state Coordinator promised to give out five NECO examination forms to Maigari of Lokoja to register any less privileges students in the community adding that some parents may not be financially bouyant to pay for their wards.

 

Ajabu noted that since he assumed office, he has paid courtesy visit to the Commissioner of police, Department of State Services, (DSS), Schools, State and Federal Ministries and parastatals, and other agencies, to inform them about the importance of NECO.

 

He, however, thanked the Monarch for the opportunity given to serve in the State, adding that, he remain committed in upholding the core values of the examination body towards the realization of its vision and mission.
