South-South Youth Assembly, honours Fidelis Lori for contributing to the growth, development of the Region

The South-South Youth Assembly, SSYA, having over 1.1 million members, has honoured Mr. Fidelis Lori, with an award of 21 CENTURYICON OF HOPE AND ROLE MODEL TO THE SOUTH-SOUTH YOUTHS.”

Fresh Angle International, understands that the award was consequent upon the contribution of Mr. Lori, to the growth and development of the South-South region.

The body in an address signed by its President, Jagbadi Francis, noted: “It is with ahigh degree of humility and a heart filled with joy that I stand here today on behalf of over 1.1 million members of the of South-South Youth Assembly (SSYA), to bring you our esteemed greetings. I am indeed proud and privileged to present this Keynote Address on this epoch-making ceremony of Award Presentation to you deservedly tagged "21 CENTURYICON OF HOPE AND ROLE MODEL TO THE SOUTH-SOUTH YOUTHS".

“The Region known as South-South today is made up of the Six Oil Producing States namely, Akwa-Ibom, Bayelsa, Cross River, Delta, Edo and River States. It was the desire to integrate the Youths of the region together to tackle the immediate problems facing the region that informed formation of this Association about one and half decade ago.

“However, the Association is also empowered to recognize Distinguished Personalities who have excelled in their chosen Endeavour in life and has contributed to the growth and development of the Region.

“It is on this note that the Fact Findings Committee of the South-South Youth Assembly nominated you for this Prestigious Award of Excellence, after a thorough perusal of your antecedents, most especially your outstanding leadership qualities, your immense contribution to the growth and development of the economy through Drilling / Construction, Oil & Gas Supplies, Services, Marine Services, Engineering, Procurement Empowerment through humanitarian / Philanthropic services to less privileged in the society, Human capital development through job creation.

“Thus, by the virtue of this Award, we wish to assure you that the over 1.1 million South-South Youths will always stand by you in all your future endeavours.

“As an intelligent, smart, hardworking, resilient man who has a golden heart and a philanthropist, while you strive hard to contribute your best towards building a better society, maybe you never realized that the eyes of our South-South Youths were watching keenly, but this Award about to be presented to you will help us to relay to you how much your positive impacts are felt by South-South Youths across the nation. Though time will not permit us to recount all your numerous achievements over the years, we wish to urge you not to see this Award from us as the end of the road, but as one measure that will stimulate you to strive harder in ensuring the best to your society, South-South Region and Nigeria in general, so as to bag more Awards even at the International level.

“Sir, we wish to crave your indulgence to inform you that the leadership of the South-South Youths, has taken critical survey of the problems and prospects of South-South Region and we have observed that restiveness, militancy and lack of educational consciousness are the prevalent issues confronting the Region. It is on this note that the leadership has proposed to organize a Seminar and sensitization programme tagged "FROM GUN MILITANCY TO PEN MILITANCY", to re-psyche the youths from violent to non-violent approach to the struggle.

“We are also ready to carry out programs that will create strong educational consciousness in the South-South Region. SSYA on this note wish to launch an educational sensitization programme tagged "SAY NO TO HUMAN TRAFFICKING! SAY NO KIDNAPPING! SAY NO TO DRUG ABUSE! SAY NO TO CULTISM! This will help to sensitize the good people of the Region on the importance of Education and shunning all forms of violence. On the importance of education and also provide educational materials to them such as note books and biros. SSYA is also appealing for your financial assistance in the production of those notes and two (2) laptop computer and a printer to equip our Secretariat just as we intend to courtesy it after your name.

“SSYA also appeal for your financial assistance to enable us carry on with this Campaign since we do not enjoy direct access to funding from the government at any level, we rely solely on well-meaning personalities like you to support the South-South Youth Assembly movements.

“We are obliged to inform you that SSYA as part of our aspiration has decided to partner with genuine personalities like you in resolving some of the problems bedeviling of our youths.

“Finally, we wish to inform you of our firm resolve in fighting for justice and equity. As this keynote address is being read to you, the leadership of SSYA has decided to launch an action plan tagged "SOUTH-SOUTH REBIRTH" with the agenda of reforming the lives of the youths, the society and the Region at large.

“SSYA is also ready to partner with Exams Ethic Committee to curb Examination Malpractices in our Tertiary Institutions and abolish all forms of campus violence such as cultism and other anti-social vices.

“We will always remain steadfast in our roles as leaders of the brighter tomorrow and fighting for justice in the society.”
