The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr Bashiru Gegu has been described as a man committed to the peace of Kogi local Government, cautioned against attempts to malign his hard earned reputation build over the years.
In a statement issued by Tanki Usman, on behalf of Peace Builders of Koton Karfe, described a recent video trending on the social media as a figment of people who are trying to tell lies, pointed out that Engr. Bashiru Gegu should not be linked to their injuries.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that the group disclosed that at no time was there shooting linked to the Commissioner in Koton Karfe, insisting that the allegation were unfounded.
According to the statement, " Some of the boys in the video had accidents on their way for a different purpose described Baba Rabi as a serial lier", seeking cheap popularity.
" Some of the pictures shown in the video we're boys who got their injury during a campaign one Ecomog led people to perpetuate violence and got shot".
" For the first time, we have a son, loved by all, seeking to better Kogi LGA, in his efforts to attract development and infrastructure development. We make bold to say no son of Kogi local Government has made the local Government a priority like Engr. Bashiru Gegu. We call on those making the allegation to seek areas of relevance as we're proud of what they Commissioner is doing".
" For the avoidance of doubt, we have report of the criminal elements who are bent on causing disinfection in Kogi LGA over traditional institution. The issues are about KotonKarfe and wonder why they should transfer their anger to a peaceful man from Gegu Beki, who is helping to restore calm in our land".
The group called on the security agencies to fish out and arrest those making the unfounded claims, insisting that they have commenced a Legal action against the faces of those in the video.
They described Engr. Bashiru Gegu, as a leader who aptly represents natural leadership, one who thinks about many, before himself, urged him not to be dampened by the frivolous claims by people who have held the local government captives since it creation.
