SNIPPETS OF ROYAL PROCLAMATION BY HRM, OGIAME ATUWATSE III, THE OLU OF WARRI TODAY SATURDAY SEPTEMBER 7, 2024 AT AGHOFEN, OLU PALACE, WARRI, DELTA STATE NIGERIA

* All Itsekiri sons, daughters, kinsmen, Chiefs, captains of industry, and true patriots are hereby charged and enjoined to develop their respective communities in order to attract physical and socioeconomic development to these long and deliberately neglected communities, especially since the unfortunate crisis that engulfed our original homes.

* Following up on the above, Ogiame directs that, henceforth, burial ceremonies should be conducted in one's identified community which must be in sync with Itsekiri established standard of burial, i.e. night wake keeping instead of the current day time new normal. This does not, however, preclude those of the Christian or Muslim faith from applying their desired pattern. The essence is to ensure that one identifies with his community of origin in such solemn matter as against the current practice of burying the dead at Ode Itsekiri, Ugbolokposo, or proximate communities around outside our own. Ogiame says this is a way of attracting friends, well wishers, associates, business partners to our communities to know where we come from, except we are trying to hide our true identity. 

* In the same vein, Ogiame proclaims that our children's marriage ceremonies, including 'temotsi' should be conducted in our respective communities. Our potential in-laws should come to our communities if they truly love us or our children, instead to engaging them at Warri, Sapele and other towns.

* It is hereby proclaimed that henceforth, to qualify for any Itsekiri leadership position and get the Royal blessings for such representation, be it political, traditional or community like Governor, Palace Chief, Legislator, LGA Chairman, Trust Chairman, etc, the first criteria will be an attached picture of one's building in his community with witnesses from kinsmen living in the community.

* In the same vein, any owner and operator of a company must have a field office in his community to qualify for other advantages and good recommendations to an IOC.

* Ogiame encourages all Itsekiri kinsmen and women therefore to return to their communities and attract development. As an exemplar, Ogiame is leading the way by taking over the construction of ultramodern halls at Bateren (Ejo Hall) and at Ajudaibo. Others are encouraged to join the new train and change the narrative for a new Iwere homeland to the delight of all.

* Boy/Girl child dichotomy is hereby abolished in Itsekiri nationality with immediate effect. Kinsmen and women should be known and identified from their commitment to the development of the community and no more.

* Ogiame thanks God and all Itsekiri patriots for celebrating with him on his 3rd Coronation Anniversary.
