The Joint Committee on Environment, Project and Works of Warri South Council Legislative Arm, have embarked on projects inspection across Warri South Local Government Area, in order to serve the people better.
Chairman of the Joint Committee and Deputy Leader of the Warri South Legislative Arm, Hon. Emmanuel Egbe, said the 8th Assembly would as part of its legislative responsibilities continue to carry out its oversight function, to make sure projects are executed to specifications, in-line with global best practices.
Hon. Egbe, gave the assurance Wednesday September 18 in Warri, shortly after members of the Joint Committee, paid unscheduled visit to Pessu Market, where they inspected the ongoing reconstruction of two modern abattoirs and solar powered cold room projects at Pessu Market ,being executed by the Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro administration of Warri South Local Government.

The Committee expressed satisfaction with the quality of work being executed, commending Comrade Weyinmi Agbateyiniro for his prudent management of the local government Council's fund.
Secretary of Butchers Union Pessu Market, Mr. Gabriel Udeh, appreciated the Joint Committee for the visit and gave plaudits to Comrade Agbateyiniro, describing him as a proactive and people-focused Chairman.
When completed, the abattoir will improve the hygienic condition of the meat section as well as the piggery centre, signaling a new dawn in Warri South market.
The site engineers at Pessu Market, Charles Okocha and Ifeanyi Iburu, assured members of the Joint Committee that the projects will be delivered this September.
Members of the Joint Committee, who were also at Ugbuwangue, to inspect ongoing clearing and parking of waste along the NPA Expressway, expressed satisfaction with the pace of work and urged Officials of the Council carrying out the exercise to put in more energy, in order to avoid more damage on the road.
The Committee, also visited the new site for sale of triff clothes, inside Pessu Market.
