Delta: Commission to embark on physical verification of LG staff, LEA/SUBEB workers, ahead implementation of financial autonomy


Ahead of the implementation of the financial autonomy granted by the Supreme Court to 774 Local Government Councils in Nigeria, the Local Government Service Commission in Delta State, will on Monday November 4, commence Physical Verification Exercise of Staff of Unified Local Government Service and Local Government Education Authority/State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB.

The staff audit, is in consonance with the approval granted during the last Joint Allocation Account Committee, JAAC meeting held at Asaba, Tuesday October 29 and presided over by Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.

According to a circular released Wednesday October 30, by the Local Government Service Commission, the audit will be conducted by the ICT unit of the DPRS of the Commission and will be rounded off Friday November 15.

The notice, addressed to Chairmen of the 25 Local Government Areas in Delta State and signed by Felix Ogedegbe, on behalf of the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, enjoined the affected staff: “To come along with original and photocopy of the following documents: appointment letter; letter of last promotion; study leave/sponsorship approval (where applicable), evidence of change of name (where applicable), valid means of identification and two recent passport photographs for the exercise.”
