The leadership of Uwakeno Community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, has dismissed speculation that names of beneficiaries from the community in Olu of Warri empowerment scheme, are about to be replaced. According to a statement credited to the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Uwakeno Community, Mr. Mayomi
Boyetie, the clarification became necessary, as a result of falsehood being peddled in the social media.
Mr. Boyetie, stated :" We want to deeply appreciate His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse III, The Olu of Warri, for this rare economic lifeline and to also appreciate Mr. Collins Edema, for his critical role in the Palace job slots ."
He insisted that the beneficiaries of the scheme from Uwakeno, are indigenes of the community, with recommendation letter " duly signed by the community leaders, including Board of Trustees and other leaders." He emphasized: " Uwakeno do not intend to remove name of any of its indigene from the existing list and replace with other indigenes.
The first set of names recommended, remain valid.
" Members of the public, should disregard rumours making the rounds in the internet that Uwakeno Community, has not been benefiting from the said empowerment.
" The accredited beneficiaries, were selected from the two families that own Uwakeno. The selection process, was devoid of factions or any other perceived disunity in the community."
