Delta Community women reportedly go naked, swear against vandals of electricity transformer

"It was barely five days, we noticed with heavy shock that two (2) out of the eight (8) newly installed transformers in Utagba-uno has been vandalized by unknown persons", the women stated.

The ugly news got to the Community when the Officers of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDEC) in conjunction with the team of the Electric Contracting Firm handling the project in Utagba-uno led by Engr. Osahon were inspecting the project.

BEDEC officials reported that they were here to inspect the whole electrical installations, quality of work done and at the same time to ascertain if the project is completed to enable them energize it and perhaps call for the commissioning. But were surprised to seeing that the two Transformers in Isumpe has been seriously tempered by vandals.

Stressed further that by implications this will really delay the commissioning process. They advised that the community should intensify efforts to ensure that the remaining electrical facilities are safe and secured.

In a similar reactions, the Onotu-uku of Isumpe Community, Rear Admiral Mike Ojinika Onah (rtd) though, not around but strongly condemned the evil acts.

While expressing his deep pained displeasure called for community general meeting to investigate it and put an end to the ugly situation.

While investigation is going on, the whole women of Isumpe Community both old and young gathered themselves at Okwa Mike Egwutu' compound at exactly 12 Oclock in the midnight of 18th November, 2024 and went into streets stark naked, crying and swearing against the vandals and their accomplice.

At the same time, the Utagba-uno Inotu-In-Council, Obi-Ndueze led by Chief Festus Emegwali also had an emergency meeting in line with the terible news and Resolved that different idols be conveyed in the whole quarters and swear against the vandals and their accomplice.
