Tear-ful Mrs. Esanye Bridget Odeli, Wife of Prince David Odeli, has cried out, saying her husband has been in custody of the Department of State Service, DSS, since last week for a purported crime he knows nothing about.

Fresh Angle International, understands that Prince David Odeli, who is the Chairman of Tisun Community Management Council in Warri North Local Government Area, was on Wednesday November 27, apprehended by operatives of the DSS, taken to the DSS Office beside Benin Electricity Distribution Company, BEDC, along Warri Sapele Road, Warri, for interrogation. He was later same day moved to Asaba and there has been no information about him since then.

Though details of the interrogation were still sketchy as at the time of this report, it was gathered that Prince Odeli, was told by the DSS investigators that his name was not among the list of suspects responsible for the recent attack of Dibi-Olero-Abiteye trunk line and Flow Stations in Warri North Local Government Area.

Prince David Odeli, was among Leaders of Dibi/Olero Field Communities in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, that unequivocally condemned the recent attack on pipelines in the Dibi-Olero-Abiteye trunk line and Flow Stations, describing Niger Delta Liberation Movement, NDLM, which claimed responsibility for damage as faceless.

Leaders of Dibi/Olero Field Communities in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, while addressing newsmen in Warri, Delta State, Tuesday November 26, declared that action of NDLM is “not only reckless, but also detrimental to the environment, the local economy and the livelihoods of residents.”

The Itsekiri host communities’ leaders, included; Chief Francis Omatseye, Chief Mike Odeli, Evangelist Tony Aderojo, Canaan Ajagbawa, Itse H. Orugboh, Simeon Iluwa, Dr. Jeffrey Wilkie, Dr. Eyide Michael Ugeoritsete, David Odeli, Isaac Dorsu, Billy Ofesi, Duris Orugboh, Eniyan Tonwe, Roland Yomere, Christian Adanas and Jerry Atiene.

Mrs. Esanye Bridget Odeli in a Facebook post last night (Sunday December 1) stated: “Free David Odeli. Innocence Must Not Suffer. My husband, Comrade David Odeli is behind bars today for a crime he knows nothing about. He wasn’t at the scene, he wasn’t involved, and he had no connection to the incident.

“Yet, the police arrested him—not because of evidence, but simply because he is the chairman of his community. How can this be fair? How can an innocent man be treated like a criminal for something he didn’t do? David Odeli’s arrest is an injustice that goes against the very idea of fairness and truth.

“Imagine this: a man who has worked hard for his community is now locked away for no reason.

“His family and friends are in pain, knowing he is innocent. David is not guilty, yet he is suffering because of a system that fails to protect the innocent.

“This is not justice; it’s wrong. Our security system is broken. Instead of finding the real person responsible, they have wrongly accused David just because of his leadership role. But being a leader does not make someone guilty.

“David Odeli is innocent, and we cannot let this happen. His innocence is clear to everyone who knows him.

“The people who have seen his work and his dedication stand by his side. This is not just about David—it’s about every Nigerian who could be wrongfully accused in the future. Free David Odeli is what the people need.

“His freedom is a fight for truth, fairness, and for all the innocent people who have been wrongly accused. Let’s stand together for David Odeli. Share his story.

“Demand justice. Together, we can show that Nigeria believes in fairness and the protection of the innocent.”
