The lawmaker representing Delta South Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas, has reacted to the reported defection of Chief James Ibori’s daughter, Hon. Erhiatake Ibori-Suenu, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, saying, “transitions of this nature are never easy.”
Senator Joel Onowakpo Thomas, in a statement titled; “CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE ON YOUR RESIGNATION FROM THE PEOPLES DEMOCRATIC PARTY (PDP)”, and addressed to Hon. Ibori-Suenu, noted: “I write to commend your courageous decision to resign from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after years of dedicated service to the party. Your move reflects a commitment to principle, integrity, and the pursuit of a political platform that aligns with your values and aspirations for your constituents.
“While transitions of this nature are never easy, your boldness in choosing to prioritise the interests of your people above political affiliations is highly commendable. I am confident that this step will pave the way for greater opportunities for you to serve your constituency and Delta State with even greater impact.
“As a fellow representative of the people at the Red Chamber, I offer my heartfelt congratulations and encouragement as you embark on this new chapter. Your wealth of experience, dedication, and passion for public service will undoubtedly continue to be a source of inspiration.
“I look forward to seeing the great strides you will make as you chart a new course in your partisan politics. Please rest assured of my support and partnership in the service of our beloved Delta State and Nigeria as a whole.”
