Delta State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Kelly Kalanama Penawou, has been commended the Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Festus Ashima, for his infrastructural development strides, saying: “I am indeed pleased to see this kind of projects within your 126 days in office as Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, you have exceeded public expectations in projects delivery in Warri North."

 

 

 

Our Warri North Correspondent, reports that Prince Kelly Penawou gave the commendation Thursday December 5, when he embarked on inspection tour of the developmental projects executed by the Hon. Ashima’s administration at Oboghoro and Koko, headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area.

He said: "Warri North Local Government Area, has placed itself on the spotlight as the pacesetter of development and we want to encourage the Council Chairman to continue on this trajectory of development.”

The Hon. Commissioner assured that, the Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, would be fulfilled with the level of developmental initiatives in the Council under the Ashima administration.

Former Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Dr. Godwin Ebosa, on his part, described the Commissioner's visit as timely.

He commended Hon. Ashima, for embarking on aggressive infrastructural projects in Oboghoro, Koko and other areas of Warri North Local Government.

He said the essence of government was to bring governance closer to those that needed government the most and “Hon. Festus Ashima is on the right path.”

While thanking the governor for creating the Ministry of Riverine and Infrastructural Development to address urgent developmental needs, Hon. Festus Ashima, said: “This is a new dawn in Warri North.”

The Warri North Local Government Boss, highlighted some of the projects he has accomplished for the few months he as assumed office to include, the opening of canals, to address challenges of flooding in the area, the building of six two-bedroom flats in Oboghoro, ready for commissioning, the ultra modern Chairman's lodge, the proposed new legislative House, Chairman’s office and the building of a modern market in Koko.

He thanked the people of Warri North for creating the peaceful atmosphere for development to thrive in the environment.

The visit was attended by top officials of government, councillors, community and opinion leaders of the council.
