Senators from the South-East Geopolitical zone, have thrown their weight behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Tax Reform Bills, Fresh Angle International, can report.
This much was disclosed few minutes ago, by Senator Orji Uzor Kalu via a tweet on his X handle.
The former Abia State Governor, said the decision, was reached today, after thorough deliberation during the South-East Senate Caucus.
He stated: “While it was agreed that the Bill should be supported, it was agreed that there should be extensive consultations with all major stakeholders.”
Recall that Senators from the South-South geopolitical zone, under the aegis of the South-South Senators’ Forum, last week expressed strong support for the Tax Reform Bills, presented to the National Assembly by President Bola Tinubu.
The group emphasized the importance of tax reforms in boosting national revenue and fostering economic stability.
The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, had on Sunday December 1, issued a statement, backing the Bill which has generated intense controversy across the country.
