Pioneer Commissioner for Oil and Gas in Delta State, Hon. Omamofe Joseph Pirah, has declined his nomination as one of those to mediate on behalf of the Niger Delta Liberation Movement (popular known as MOVEMENT) saying he found it strange to be nominated by persons he doesn't know their identity or modus operandi.
Hon. Pirah, who strongly condemned any form of economic sabotage, posited that agitation through constructive dialogue with relevant stakeholders, is what the country requires at this point in our history.
Whilst stressing that economic sabotage should be condemned in its entirety, the former Chairman of Itsekiri Regional Development Committee, IRDC, stated that International Oil and Gas companies, should respect the Local Content Act, when conducting recruitment into their workforce, saying employing qualified locals, won't in anyway jeopardize standard.
Recall that NDLM, Monday in an electronic statement sent to Fresh Angle International, announced indefinite suspension of Operation Chevron Dragnet, naming Chief Rita Lori - Ogbebor, Dr. Godwin Ebosa, Hon. Omamofe Joseph Pirah and three other prominent Itsekiris as mediators.
