Why we introduced food bank in our annual thanksgiving - Onuwaje family

The Chairman of the Onuwaje family worldwide, Mr. Quincy Onuwaje, says the family decided to introduce food bank to its annual thanksgiving/get-together, as a way of extending love to family members during the festive season.

Our Principal Correspondent, reports that Mr. Quincy Onuwaje gave the explanation Sunday December 29, at the 2024 annual thanksgiving of Onuwaje family, held at Foursquare Gospel Church, Ekurede-Itsekiri, Warri in Delta State.

According to the Chairman, the Onuwaje family annual thanksgiving/get-together and food bank initiative of 2024, was about jolly and merry, noting that donation came from family members, within and outside Nigeria.

He disclosed that the family has a lot of targets to meet, promising to come up with a handbook for the family, in order for the Onuwaje family members across to know themselves more and how they became part of the family, even as he added that the Onuwaje family is spanning more than 7th generations.

Mr. Onuwaje posited further that they want to run the family like a nuclear family, irrespective of the large size and urged family members to always attend the monthly family meetings at the Onuwaje family compound in Ogedegbe Street, Warri.

Chief (Engr) Anthony Onuwaje, while leading the family members at the annual Thanksgiving, said: "Our God has been good, we came to give Him thanks".

He commended the family chairman for his dogged and pragmatic leadership, saying he has seen improvement for the past 20 years that they began the annual thanksgiving.

Chief Onuwaje, also appreciated the executive as well as the family members for their support, charging them to always attend family meetings.

Fresh Angle International, can report that items distributed from the food bank to family members, include: Bags of Rice, Tubbers of yam, Sachets of Maggi, Sachets of salt, live Chickens, Carton of noodles, sachets of vegetable oil, wraps of beans and onions.
