Bangladesh’s Media Under Hammered Siege

The mass media in Bangladesh refers to the print, broadcast and online mass media available in Bangladesh.

The Constitution guarantees press freedom and freedom of expression.

Freedom of expression is important for democracy, because it enables the public to participate in making decisions based on the free flow of information and ideas. Without it, people would be unable to make informed decisions.

Freedom of expression is found in many facets of human life. Human rights organizations advocate and rely on freedom of expression. The Internet is a place where information is shared quickly across language and geographic barriers.

But Ill-scented Yunus and his funky lieutenants have been carrying out a massive propaganda that freedom of speech is now distinctively evident in Bangladesh! But the truth is diametrically just the opposite!

All media outlets, Radio and TV stations in Bangladesh have been carrying on on-sided, and dictated under cloak-and-dagger news items favouring Yunus led Puppet Government, so-called students – coordinators, terrible Jamaat-e-Islami mass-murderers and rapists of 1971, their present scions, their present successors, the Dhaka military cantonment born illegitimate political outfits, dreaded Hizbut Tahrir, Ansarullah Bangla Team, Hefazat-e-Islam and many other pocketable direful extremum right-winger Islamist Jihadist squads. A culture of fearsome environs - purlieu has been passing on ceaselessly in Bangladesh since 5 August 2024.

All media outlets are also publishing news items resorting to their own self-censored macrocosm burying the truths because of fearing of the onslaughts of knife to be thrust upon them by those bestial forces.

The challenges to press freedom have further intensified which Bangladesh has never experienced in the past under the present landscape of Bangladesh being hijacked and commandeered by those malefic forces. Yunus and his administration have been pampering those trigger-happy big guns only to trammeling the leaders and activists of Awami League (AL), but under the leadership of AL, Bangladesh was born in 1971.

Even the supporters of AL have been put under their direful threats since HPM Sheikh Hasina’s forceful down-fall from power in Bangladesh on 5 August 2024.

The country which achieved independence on 16 December 1971 taking mighty military and diplomatic support and cooperation from India and former Soviet Union, but at the supreme sacrifices of 3 million of our people and losing chastity of our 300 thousand mothers and sisters at the wretched hands of the brutal Pakistani army and their savage local henchmen, particularly Jamaat-e-Islami mass-liquidators, Nezam-e-Islami, Muslim League, Pakistan Democratic Party, et al.

There are more than 150 million internet users now in Bangladesh comprising 77.2% of the population (Worldinternetstats.com). The vast majority are using mobile devices.

Access to the internet is usually unrestricted. But access to social media, messaging platforms and news sites has frequently been blocked by the authorities if anything truthful posted there related to the misdeeds committed by those ruffians as stated above including the illegal, unlawful and unconstitutional Dr. Yunus and his led government functionaries.

Some prominent bloggers who have written about Islamic fundamentalism have been murdered for their writing. Bloggers and social media users have been arrested on flimsy grounds.

Dr. Yunus is no-win situation in Bangladesh since his assumption to the throne of Bangladesh by a deep-dyed confederacy with the powerful western powers in conjunction with Pakistan’s roughshod spy agency ISI and terrible local actors. His regime couldn’t withstand till now because of his utter failures in all fields and because of his dirty cabal to overthrow HPM Sheikh Hasina from power. He has still remained in power because of his alliance with the powerful western powers.

Under the able and dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina, Bangladesh was developed strikingly almost close any western nation during rule, but as ill luck would have it, during July-August 2024, all people’s welfare-oriented epic development projects costing billions of US dollars were burnt, damaged and demolished by those violent crimsoned forces. Due to Yunus’s skullduggeries and legerdemain junto with CIA, ISI and other local extreme rightist shenanigans, he has been receiving ire openly from even the mass-people.

The country is now in a state of confusion and disorderliness and he has no command even over his lieutenants. Ochlocracy is dominant everywhere across Bangladesh. Murders, loots, raping, robberies, tortures on the Awami Leaguers and their alliance members, people of other religions, especially Hindus have been taking place unabatedly. The prices of daily essentials are shooting up exceedingly, but with no respite. The mass-people have been expressing their indignation against the Yunus government to go away and ready for welcoming Sheikh Hasina’s return to Bangladesh to take the helm of the country.

But the media including the TV and Radio stations can’t write or broadcast or show such truthful narrations or perfect examples of such desires of the mass-people. They can’t write about the misdeeds of Yunus government, whereas when Sheikh Hasina was in power, she was bitterly criticized by both local and foreign media. The local and foreign HR Organisations piercingly excoriated Sheikh Hasina government. But now they have chosen to hush up inscrutable silence against Yunus government, his utterly impudent so-called student leaders, terrible religious traders, horrific anti-Bangladesh liberation forces, their present scions and their present successors, et al.

Bangladesh has been moving a in faster way to become a Banana Republic under Yunus’s puppet government installed by CIA sitting afar with their dreadful funguses driving out Sheikh Hasina like a most successful HPM of Bangladesh, a politician of the world stature.

In the intricate fabric of state governance, the media stands as the fourth pillar, shouldering the responsibility of a vigilant watchdog over the executive, legislature, and judiciary. This pivotal role extends beyond the national borders of Bangladesh, echoing global trends where the grievous nexus of demons belonging to narrow beech fern unsafe political-religious squads has emerged as a central determinant of media in Bangladesh.

A mob rule is going on the country. Yunus led so-called Interim Government has only been arresting Awami Leaguers and their Alliance leaders and filing murder cases against them ceaselessly with unleashing inhuman tortures. No can express freedom of thoughts except their clodhoppers.

Journalism has become a job industry with more and more young people choosing the job but it hasn’t really developed as a profession. Once there were few newspapers and weeklies but journalism was regarded as a noble profession for maintaining dignity, professionalism and ethics. Today there are numerous media but with fast-declining professionalism, commitment and ethical standard under the present illegal Yunus government are taking strong foot-hold in Bangladesh.

Even two leading newspapers – The Daily Star (English) and Prothom Alo (Bengali) offices which are staunch supporter of the Yunus led puppet government of CIA were surrounded by some extreme group of Mullahs to blow up those offices along with their journalists in open daylight, pronounced terrible slogans against them, butchered some fatso cows, made rich food items and eat them lavishly with celebrations there.

The Yunus government, even the Bangladesh army needed to behave with a certain sang-froid to disperse those rogue people from their besieged places, but un-hurting and without bringing them to justice! The powerful editors of these two newspapers did never publish the thuggish act of those violent ratbags mysteriously. One could now easily fathom about the present situation in Bangladesh!!!

There is a growing perception that media no longer holds the value of serving public and provides news with certain interests or intentions under compelling situation of the Yunus led unethical government secretly - on the QT.

There is a growing concern among journalists about the government's attempt to dictate the media outlets slyly and secretly. But all these skullduggeries must not go unchallenged under any circumstances, sooner or later.
