Tragedy struck Sunday September 9 at about 8pm in Sowhorhuwe Street, off Ojabugbe in Okumagba layout, Warri when a member of Buccaneer, a notorious cult group was stabbed to death by members of a rival cult group, Vikings.
The victim identified simply as Ogheneruona was known for criminal activities in the area and was notorious for stabbing as well as terrorizing innocent residents in the area.
Fresh Angle gathered that Ogheneruona had stabbed an unidentified member of Vikings in one of his eyes and that led to a reprisal attack by members of Vikings cult group who ambushed him at Sowhorhuwe Street and stabbed him on several parts of his body to make sure he died on the spot.
Reports from the area reveal that the following day, members of both cult groups combed the area in search of their rival cult members for possible attack and that led to the destruction of properties of some residents in the area.
It took the intervention of a combined team of Okere-Urhobo Vigilante and Men of the “B” Division of the Nigerian Police Force in Warri to arrest the situation, as the cultists ran on seeing them.
Efforts by Fresh Angle to speak with Mr. Wilfred (a.k.a babaress) father of Ogheneruona at his number 15 Ekuruemu Street residence in Okumagba layout, Warri were futile as a source close to him said he cannot speak to press.
