Warri South Mobile Court prosecutes 53 sanitation defaulters, commits 37 to community service

Warri South Local Government Council Mobile Court presided over by Chief Magistrate Kate Otunuwobo of Magistrate Court 4, Warri, on Saturday January 25, prosecuted 53 sanitation defaulters.                                        

 

Fresh Angle International can report that the Mobile Court, which sat at the Warri South Local Government Council Main Secretariat in Warri, commited 37 of the defaulters to community service, discharged two on compassionate ground and slammed 14 of the offenders with fine of two thousand naira each.

Warri South Local Government Council Supervisor for Environment, Hon. Femi Okorodiden, who monitored the exercise on behalf of the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Comrade Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, decried the attitude of residents of Warri, particularly traders, during the monthly environmental sanitation period.                            

 

Hon. Okorodiden, stressed the need for residents of Warri South Local Government, especially traders and transporters to always adhere to the state government restriction of movement order during the monthly environmental sanitation exercise and clean up their environment.                           

 

The Head of Environment Department of Warri South Local Government Council, Mrs. Stella Mode, who coordinated staffers of the department across the length and breadth of the council area during the exercise, ensured that sweepers engaged by the Council, adequately cleaned up major roads and streets in Warri.

Mrs. Mode, commended people of Sido street in Odion community, for clearing the side drains in the street, urging residents of Warri to always clear their drains and ensure the refuse are properly evacuated.
