Jubilation as Ashima announces: We are here for reopening of the Ultra-Modern Ogheye Floating Market
Ecstatic residents of Ogheye, coming out enmasse to receive Hon. Festus Ashima & Hon. Fred Martins


There was widespread jubilation at Ogheye in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State, Tuesday March 12, when the Chairman of Warri North Local Government Area, Hon. Festus Ani Ashima, told people of the riverine community, "we are here for the re-opening of the Ultra Moden Ogheye Floating Market, to boost economic activities in the community, tackle idleness and joblessness.”

 

Our Warri North Correspondent, reports that Hon. Ashima, who stormed the community in company of the member representing Warri North Constituency in Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Fred Martins, announced that shops would be pre-allocated to those who were doing business in the market before its reconstruction, irrespective of their ethnic or religious background.

 

The Warri North Council Boss, warned that any shop that is not put into immediate use, will be re-allocated to those who are ready to use them.

 

He thanked the Delta State Government for the gigantic project and commended former Chairman of Warri North Local Government, Dr. Godwin Ebosa, “for his uncommon leadership and vision in ensuring that the project was completed in record time.”

The member representing Warri North Constituency in the State House of Assembly, Hon. Fred Martins, described the market project as a major dividend of democracy and assured people of Ogheye of increased government presence, that will make life worth living for the common man.

 

Hon. Festus Ashima and Hon. Fred Martins, were received by the Olare-Aja (Oldest Man) of the community, Pa. Fregene Moses Oritsetsundede, who expressed fulfilment in the mission of the worthy sons of the Council.

 

While appreciating the effort of government, Warri North PDP Chairman, Hon. Victor Dudu, the Olare-Aja and Elders-in-Council of Ogheye, thanked the Hon. Ashima and Hon. Martins, for their collaborative efforts in making life worth living for people of Ogheye.

They said the market will help to change the fortune of the Ogheye community and serve as a rallying point for commercial activities, which would ultimately create job opportunities.

The Councillor representing Ogheye Ward in Warri North Legislative Arm, Hon. Dolu Moses and Hon. Misan Omatsuli, a former Councillor, Hon. Tene Tsetse as well as other community and opinion leaders, were on ground, during the working visit of the Warri North Local Government Chief Executive.
