Okorodudu continues inspection of DESOPADEC projects, visits Isoko, Ndokwa Nations


The Executive Director, Projects on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu has reiterated the commitment of the Board and the unwavering support of His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori towards ensuring quality jobs to meet standards of specifications in the Commissions mandate areas.

 

Dr. Okorodudu gave this assurance Thursday March 13, while addressing DESOPADEC Media at Aboh, the Ndokwa East Local Government Headquarters after inspecting the completed Divisional Police Headquarters at Aboh, stating that the facilities provided by DESOPADEC aim at providing enabling environment and infrastructure to enhance policing by the Men and Officers of the Nigerian Police Force serving at Aboh Divisional Headquarters, stressing that the action is worthy of replication with at least two (2) each in the three Senatorial Districts of Delta State.

"This model of facilities is a holistic approach to providing enabling environment and infrastructure to our Men and Officers of the Nigerian Police. I will recommend that it is replicated in the three (3) Senatorial Districts to enhance peace and security because the primary duty of government is to provide peace and security for its citizens.

 

"I also praise the effort of the Member representing Ndokwa Nation on the Board of DESOPADEC, Dr. Charles Olisa for rigorously monitoring this project to its logical conclusion and ensuring it is of standard," he said.

 

Areas covered include landscaping, fencing, gate house, armory office, administrative block, Male and Female cells and housing quarters all in one.

 

 

The Member representing Ndokwa ethnic nationality on the Board, Dr. Charles Olisa while speaking with the Media, thanked His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for the opportunity given him to contribute his quota to the development of his mandate area and Delta State in general.

 

"My appreciation goes to our amiable Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for this rare opportunity accorded me to represent my people on the Board of DESOPADEC. The Governor is working. You can see the project by yourself, fully completed and ready for commissioning any time from now," he said.

 

Other projects visited were the installed solar powered street light at Dr. Charles Olisa street to Ilide and Pilot road Ashaka, also in Ndokwa East.

 

Dr. Okorodudu and his entourage later paid a courtesy visit to The Imperial Majesty, Obi of Aboh, Obi Oputa the 111 in his Palace.

 

Earlier, the Executive Director Projects, Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu accompanied by the Member representing Isoko Nation on the Board of DESOPADEC, High Chief Victor Egbo, kick-started his projects inspection in Isoko nation with the first call at Oghara Iyede in Isoko North Local Government Area where the installed functional solar powered street light was inspected.

 

Briefing the Media, the Executive Director Projects, Dr. Okorodudu said that the issue of providing light to the rural communities in the mandate areas is very paramount to the Commission because of its enormous benefits.

 

He then commended the Member representing the Isoko Nation on the Board of DESOPADEC, High Chief Victor Egbo for his quality representation. 

 

The inspection tour then proceeded to Pastor Okpobor Road in Oghara Iyede where drainage system and road construction were ongoing as well as fencing, landscaping of Oghara Iyede Community Hall built by DESOPADEC some years ago.

 

Dr. Okorodudu commended the quality of job done and gave kudos to High Chief Victor Egbo for ensuring quality job in Isoko nation.

 

Other projects in Isoko Nation inspected were the ongoing work of concrete Road pavement, phase 1, at Ithirikpe Road, Oleh in Isoko South and the installation and fencing of 300kva Transformer at Odoro Road also in Oleh, the Headquarters of Isoko South Local Government Area, which is fully completed and ready for commissioning.

 

Dr. Okorodudu commended the initiator of the project, Chief Engr Daniel Omoyibo, alias Damotex, for being a strong pillar in fostering development to Isoko Nation and Delta State at large and for his philanthropy to people in need.

 

In his response, Chief Engr Daniel Omoyibo, alias Damotex commended His Excellency Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori and the Board of DESOPADEC for the purposeful intervention in its mandate area and called for strict supervision of all projects in the Commission’s Mandate Areas. 

At the ongoing renovation work on classrooms, Principal’s quarters and ICT lab at St. Michael’s College, Oleh, the Member who frowned at the roofing of the classroom building directed that the contractor should come back to site and re-roof the entire building, noting that there must be a strict adherence to the Commission’s job specifications and praising the Principal of the College, Mrs. Bridget Onojerame for standing for the good of the institution.

 

The Executive Director Projects, DESOPADEC, Olorogun Dr. Ebenezer Okorodudu also remarked that any project that falls short of the Commission’s specifications shall not be certified.
