Warri South Local Government Council in Delta State, will commence full digitization of its revenue collection from April 1, 2025, Fresh Angle International, can report.
The Council had commenced partial implementation of digitization of its revenue collection under the Dr. Michael Tidi administration, with intent of blocking revenue leakages.
An Official of the Council Revenue Unit, told This Soaring International Tabloid, Monday Night, that as part of strategies to actualize the full digitization of the revenue drive, accredited revenue agents of the Council, will on Wednesday March 19, begin visit to business places, with a view to collate data from owners of businesses in Warri South Local Government Area.
The revenue agents would thereafter issue demand notices to business owners. The demand notices would specify rate to be paid and the Council's Account details.
Whilst noting that the revenue agents are prohibited from collecting cash payment, the Council Official, stated that payment of revenue for the year 2025 can only be done through Mobile Apps, PoS, Banks, Or Any Other Digital Platforms and Payment Receipt Shall be electronically generated.
“Businesses that do daily payments, like buses and boat ticketing, market squatters etc, should ensure that the revenue agents generate ticket for them as evidence of payment”, the Official added.
