The Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo has urged those campaigning for the reelection of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to "off the mic" as the Governor is committed and focused on ensuring the development of the State, saying it is too early to get "engrossed in the 2027 politics".
Addressing newsmen in Lokoja, Thursday, the Information Commissioner said the focus of everyone should be on how to take Kogi to the next level as the Chief Servant is working hard to make Kogi great.
"We recently celebrated the first anniversary of the administration by inviting Kogites to come together and discuss the future of the State. It was a gathering of truth and a clear indication of the Kogi rebirth.
"The Administration is currently working on making the state a destination of choice for investors around the world, by putting in place adequate security, excellent infrastructure, innovative and friendly land and tax administration as well as improving our business environment.
"As part of this ambitious drive, the Ododo Administration is working on ensuring Kogi has an Airport and a Free Trade Zone. We are being intentional about the standards of the hospitality industry in the state as well as tailoring our education to produce quality human resources for the industrial revolution that is gradually unfolding in the state.
"We thank the Federal Government for giving all the necessary support to transform Kogi's mineral wealth into greatness. We also thank the investing public for their continued faith in our policies and environment. Ododo is on a mission to make Kogi State economically viable and to empower the people of the State through shared prosperity", he said.
Our Kogi State Correspondent, reports that Fanwo called on political campaigners to redirect their energies towards joining hands with the Governor to fulfill his campaign promises and to achieve the goals set for itself by the administration which are already crystalizing, insisting that the Governor is completely sold to making Kogi a great state.
"For the Chief Servant, it is time for work and not time for politics. He won't play politics with the development of the State. He has earned the trust of the Kogi people and to retain that trust, he will continue to work hard for them, secure them, empower them and create a state where people can prosper", he said.
He said the Chief Servant expects officials of the Government to focus on serving the people rather than "bugging them with political rhetoric just a little over one year of service to the people".
He said: "Governor Ododo's footprints are bold on the sands of all the sectors and the people are quite impressed. He will continue to work for the people. That is his focus".
