The Chairman of Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Sylvester Oromoni, has presented a draft estimate of Nineteen billion, Three hundred and ninety million, one Hundred and Forty-eight Thousand, three hundred and eighty-one Naira, (N19,390,148,381) to the Warri South-West Legislative Arm as 2025 Draft Budget Estimate.
Our Warri South-West Bureau Chief, reports that the amount which is made up of (N13,006,200,000) capital expenditure and (N6,383,948,381) recurrent expenditure was presented to the Legislative Arm for consideration and approval Thursday, March 27.
The Warri South-West Council Chairman stated that the recurrent expenditure is 33%, while the capital expenditure is 67%.
“It is our responsibility to synergise in ensuring that all the projects and programmes contained in this proposed estimate is executed as soon as the Estimates are passed into bye-law, contingent upon the availability of funds."
Hon. Sylvester Oromoni said that his Administration remains committed to the M.O.R.E AGENDA of the Delta State Government, which focuses on Peace and Security, Agriculture and Industries, Environmental and Climate Change, Human Capital Development, Primary Health Care Delivery, Infrastructure and Utility, Fiscal Policy, Revenue Generation, Public Finance, Social Development and Creative Industry, Entrepreneurship and Strategy, hence this year, 2025 budget christened" BUDGET OF HUMAN, CAPITAL AND INFRASTRUTURAL DEVELOPMENT" is based on its robust foundation.
The 2025 Fiscal year's budget of N19, 390,148,381(Nineteen Billion, Three Hundred and Ninety Million, One Hundred and Forty-eight Thousand, Three hundred and Eighty-one Naira) only, represents an increase of 198% due to anticipated rise in oil prices in the global market and Federal Government Tax Reform.
The budget will be funded by Statutory Allocation from the Federal Government and Internal Generated Revenue. Responding, the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Samuel Ekpemupolo, thanked the Chairman and assured him of their commitment to collaborate with the Executive Arm to refine and approve the budget that best serves the interests of the people of Warri South-West.
