Tenumah condemns arrest of protesting Itsekiri youths,, says Ijaw using pipeline surveillance job to oppress Itsekiris

Former President of National Association of Itsekiri Graduates, NAIG, Comrade Alero Naomi Tenumah, has strongly condemned the alleged arrest of protesting Itsekiri youths by the military, saying it speaks to the zero protection Itsekiris have been experiencing in their land since the last Warri crisis.                          

Tenumah, who was miffed by the reported arrest of protesting Itsekiri youths at Nigerian Gas Company Limited in Ubeji Tuesday, stated that there was no justification to use tear gas canister and ammunition on youths who were on peaceful protest.                                

The Itsekiri rights advocate, who spoke to Fresh Angle International this afternoon on telephone, averred that the proposal released by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC for unit and ward delineation in Warri Federal Constituency, " was nothing short of testing the waters, with the ultimate aim of politically and geographically wiping out the Itsekiri Nation."                                        

Whilst alleging that the pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Tantita Security Services Limited, was being used to terrorise innocent Itsekiris and scare them from their " God - given communities" Tenumah, added: "  The federal government, should not fold its arm and allow High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, some of his tribal brothers and his cohorts in Agbassa, Warri, to successfully orchestrate their agenda to wipe out Itsekiri Nation from the geographical map of Nigeria.                                      " It has become obvious that some officials of INEC and the Nigerian military, are colluding with Itsekiri ethnic neighbours in Warri Federal Constituency to achieve the evil plot against we the Itsekiri people, who are the historical and legitimate owners of Warri Federal Constituency, parts of Delta Central Senatorial District and sizeable land in a local government area of Edo state."
